Post resettlement services
USWM offers services to refugees who are newly resettled and/or migrated from other states.
Comprehensive outreach/referral and educational Services
United Somali Women’s Center is a referral/resource center that connects New Mainers to services needed. USWM staff members actively provide individual and family community outreach. USWM outreach workers visit refugees in their homes to assess the comprehensive needs of the family. The outreach workers offer immediate counseling, and connect families to existing area resources and service providers.
School Programs
Addressing the school needs of the refugee children and families.
Trainings
Educating the services providers and well as the refugee communities.
Domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking services
Providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services to the refugee and immigrant victims.
Advocacy services
Advocating for the refugee and immigrant communities at different levels of the system.
